Giants @ Steelers Analysis & Breakdown

Last week everyone was questioning the decision to bench Justin Fields and give the starting job to Russell Wilson; this week it feels like a no-brainer. Russ came into last week and absolutely lit the Jets’ defense on fire.

He finished the game with 262 yards, 2 passing touchdowns, and nо turnovers. The Steelers looked great, they scored 37 points, recorded 407 total yards and scored 4 offensive touchdowns.

The Giants come into this game off оf one оf their worst offensive games іn the last two seasons. New York lost 28-3 tо the Dallas Cowboys and recorded just 119 total yards оf offense; and this was оn their home field.

This week they face off with, arguably, the best defense іn the NFL. The Steelers are allowing the 2nd least amount оf points per game (14.4), holding their opponents tо 298 yards per game (6th). They rank 5th іn takeaways per game (1.9) but have upped that tо 2.7 over their last 3 games.

The Steelers’ kryptonite, if they had one, is their pass defense. Pittsburgh’s allowing 217 passing yards per game (20th) and they’ve only given up 3 rushing touchdowns TOTAL on the season.

Daniel Jones has gone back to back weeks without throwing a touchdown and has thrown just 2 touchdowns over the last 4 weeks. If he can’t get it going through the air, it’ll be a long night for everyone in a Giants’ uniform.

George Pickens o62.5 Receiving Yards (-115)

No one is happier than George Pickens, that Russell Wilson is back. Pickens recorded one of his best games of the season, tallying 111 receiving yards, 5 catches and 1 touchdown. He was targeted a team-high 9 times and recorded an average depth of target of 17 yards.

We know Russell Wilson loves to throw it deep and when it comes to that, Pickens is up there with the best in the business. Pickens has recorded a catch of 25+ or more yards in 5 of their 7 games this year, including a 44 yarder last week from Russell Wilson.

He’s super quick and he’s great at finding the holes in opposing defenses. Last week we saw AJ Brown finish with 89 yards and a touchdown against this same secondary and this week it’s Pickens’ turn.

Tyrone Tracey o2.5 Receptions (+128)

The Steelers run defense is the best in the league. They’re allowing just 81 yards per game and they’ve given up just 3 rushing touchdowns to opposing teams. The way to get the running back involved against the Steelers is through the air.

Pittsburgh ranks 28th in passing yards allowed to opposing running backs, and 3 of their 8 passing touchdowns allowed have been to running backs. Tracy came into the fold when the Giants’ start, Devin Singletary, was hurt.

Since then, he’s hit this line in 2 of the games recording 11 total targets over the L3 weeks. Last week with the return of Singletary, Tracy still saw the bulk of snaps and most of the touches both on the ground and through the air.

This week against a tough Steelers front 7, the Giants will need to get creative to help them get a win, or at least keep it close.

To Recap, NFL Bets For October 28th, 2024:

In the Giants @ Steelers game on Monday Night, we’re rolling with 2 plays. George Pickens o62.5 Receiving Yards (-115), Tyrone Tracy o2.5 Receptions (+128)
